FIG
The Fulcrum Investment Group (FIG) is classified as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). FIG was established to identify investment opportunities; however, our primary focus is service and giving back. We strive to be a valuable asset to the communities where we work and live. As a family, we are members of Heartland Church, the WKU President's Circle, the William McKendree Society, the Murray State University 1922 Society, Murray State University Triple Crown Investors Society, the United States Air Force Academy Sabre Society, the United States Naval Academy Presidents Circle, the United States Military Academy (West Point) Superintendent’s Circle, and the Carson Center for the Arts. We have established an endowed perpetual scholarship to provide scholarship opportunities for students attending Western Kentucky University, an office naming opportunity at the newly built Gordon Ford School of Business at WKU, and the Drs. Philip and Melissa Chapman Foundation Gate C Lobby, located in the CFSB Center at MSU.
Dr. Philip Chapman, President
Dr. Philip M. Chapman is a financial advisor, educator, philanthropist, and retired United States Air Force financial management leader with more than two decades of distinguished service to the nation.
During his military career, Dr. Chapman served in a variety of senior financial management roles supporting the United States Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of State, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). His assignments included managing complex financial operations, advising senior leaders, and overseeing the stewardship of public resources in support of national security objectives around the world.
Dr. Chapman holds degrees in Financial Management and Business Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with a specialization in Finance. He currently serves as a financial advisor and partner with a Fortune 300 investment firm, where he helps individuals, families, business owners, and organizations pursue their long-term financial goals.
In addition to his professional practice, Dr. Chapman serves as an Adjunct Professor of Finance in the School of Business at Liberty University, where he teaches and mentors the next generation of business and financial leaders.
Dr. Chapman is the founder of The Fulcrum Investment Group and co-founder of The Drs. Philip & Melissa Chapman Foundation, organizations dedicated to creating opportunities through strategic investment, education, and charitable giving. His philanthropic efforts include support for higher education, student scholarships, athletics, faith-based initiatives, and community development throughout Kentucky and beyond.
Committed to serving his local community, Dr. Chapman serves on the Cabinet of Heartland Church in Paducah, Kentucky, where he is actively involved in both children's and student ministries. He also serves on the Board of Community Christian Academy and supports numerous civic, educational, and charitable organizations.
Above all, Philip considers his faith, his marriage to his wife Melissa of more than twenty-five years, and the privilege of raising their two daughters to be his greatest blessings and accomplishments.
Dr. Melissa Chapman, VP
Dr. Melissa Chapman is an educator, academic leader, and advocate for leadership development with a career dedicated to preparing future educators and organizational leaders for success.
She holds degrees in Elementary Education and Curriculum Design and Instruction, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership. Throughout her career, Dr. Chapman has served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles, developing innovative programs and mentoring students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
As a result of her husband's military service, Dr. Chapman lived and worked throughout the United States and Europe, gaining valuable experience in diverse educational environments and leadership settings. These experiences helped shape her passion for leadership development, organizational excellence, and educational innovation.
Dr. Chapman currently serves as a Professor and Program Coordinator at Murray State University, where she leads academic initiatives, develops future educational leaders, and contributes to the advancement of higher education through teaching, research, and service. Her scholarly work includes research, publications, and presentations focused on educational leadership, teacher development, diversity in education, and rural learning environments.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Melissa is actively involved in her local church and community. She serves on the Praise Team at Heartland Church in Paducah, Kentucky, and is passionate about using her gifts and talents to serve others through worship, mentorship, and leadership.
Dr. Chapman is also the co-founder of The Drs. Philip & Melissa Chapman Foundation, which supports educational opportunities, scholarships, faith-based initiatives, and community development efforts. She is passionate about investing in people and helping individuals reach their full potential through education, mentorship, and service.
Melissa has been married to her husband, Philip, for more than twenty-five years. Together, they are raising two daughters and remain committed to serving their community, supporting educational excellence, and creating opportunities for future generations.
